Carlene is a licensed marriage and family therapist with 8+ years of experience providing counseling and therapeutic services to adults and teenagers. She spent 20 years working in non-profit agencies and schools before transitioning to private work. She believes in providing a respectful, non-judgmental, and caring environment for clients to explore and heal old wounds, reduce anxiety and depression, enhance communication in their relationships, and assist them in reaching their personal goals to move from surviving to thriving in life. Carlene believes every person has the capacity for growth and change, and she helps clients find greater balance, personal insight, and resiliency. She has extensive training and personal experience in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT), Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy (PACT), Gottman Method Couples Therapy (Level 1 & 2), NARM (NeuroAffective Relational Model) Therapy for Complex Trauma (Level 2), Dynamic Enriched Experiential Psychotherapy (DEEP), Somatic Experiencing: Body-Centered Trauma Therapy (Intermediate), EMDR Therapy, Positive Discipline Parenting Approach, Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), and Sand Tray Therapy (Levels 1-4).
